CCB Goes To Church In Thanksgiving |

The Caribbean Commercial Bank, now celebrating its 30th Anniversary, has been commended for taking time to offer thanksgiving to God for its existence and for being able to provide a series of well-needed services and support for the people of Anguilla.

The kudos came from Pastor Philip Gumbs, of the Church of God (Holiness), at the Queen Elizabeth Avenue, where CCB’s Board of Directors, Management, Staff and Shareholders attended a special service on Sunday, November 5.

Pastor Phillip said it was admirable when an institution, such as CCB, found it important to include God in its activities. He was grateful to the Bank for providing funds for the building of his church some years ago. He spoke of the planned costly air-conditioning of the edifice and the need for further financing and was thankful for some assistance from the Anguilla National Bank.

Chairman of CCB, Osbourne Fleming, said one of the Bank’s undertakings was to help churches as part of it social commitment to the island. He spoke of his involvement in CCB and the benefits it had brought to the people of Anguilla.

Managing Director, Preston Bryan, gave a brief account of the functioning of CCB and its successful operations over the past thirty years. He expressed gratitude to all persons who had contributed to the success of the Bank.
Among those in attendance, were Ronald Webster, one of the Founders and a Past Chairman of the Bank and Mrs. Webster.

The Thanksgiving Service was interspersed with rousing singing which included selections by a church group and CCB’s staff.
Following the service, lunch, financed by the Bank, was served to the congregation and guests in the basement of the church building.
