Murder Suspect Steve Bryan Has Died


Steve Bryan, who was awaiting a re-trial on a charge of murder in the case of Jamida Webster, and was a remand prisoner at Her Majesty’s Prison in Anguilla, has died at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.


A press release issued by the Ministry of Social Development, state that Bryan died on Saturday, October 28 at approximately 8.15 pm.

“The release continued as follows:

“As a result of injuries sustained at H.M. Prison on 9 August 2006, in circumstances still under investigation, Mr. Bryan was treated at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and subsequently taken by air ambulance for further treatment. Mr. Bryan was discharged from the hospital in Trinidad and returned to Anguilla on Tuesday, the 17th of October 2006. Until his passing, Mr. Bryan was hospitalised at the Princess Alexandra Hospital for continuing medical treatment.

“An autopsy to determine the cause of death will be carried out on the body as soon as possible.

“The Ministry wishes to express its sympathy to the family of the late Steve Bryan.”
