October 15th Windball Cricket News


Windball Cricket matches are scheduled to continue this weekend at Island Harbour and East End.

In games on Sunday 15th October, rain caused a change of venue for one game while three went as scheduled.


In the Farrington, Blue Jays defeated East Eagles, while the Razor Massive Girls crushed Boo’s Running Rebels.

Batting first, the Razor girls totaled 103 for 6, with Astra Rogers striking a massive 33 runs and Semone Harrigan and Lauretta Reid contributing 18 and 14 not out respectively. Lillian Carty took 2 wickets for Boo’s.

Responding, Boo’s fell short by 57 runs, only scoring 46 all out with Nadica being the only batsman to get into double figures, hitting 25 not out. Talitha Webster was the pick of the Razor bowlers, with figures of 2 overs for 14 runs and taking 5 wickets. Jane Smith took 2 wickets.

In Sandy Ground Deadly Force came up against Point United. The Point men batted first and set a victory target of 135 for Deadly Force. “Metro” Lake led the way for Point, top scoring on 28 with the help of 22 runs from “Whoop” Tyson. Michel Morton took 3 while Sammy Carty took 2 wickets for Deadly Force.

In reply, Deadly Force could only score 94 all out with Collin Liddie and Shem McDowall scoring 21 and 19 respectively. “Metro” and Greg “2Pac” Romney took 3 wickets each for Point, while Delano Mussington and Shridath Rey took 2 wickets apiece.

In the female division, the game between Point United and Force 2 Reckon With had to be moved to Blowing Point, after a heavy shower in Sandy Ground.

Force 2 Reckon batted first scoring 88 for 6 with Monique Proctor leading the way with 17 runs and Khalidah Banks and Wilma Proctor scoring 11 and 10 respectively. Nova Romney, Dornette Richardson Glenda Richardson and each took 2 wickets for Point United.

At their turn to bat, Blondene “Bubbles” Richardson was the only Point batsman to make it into double figures, top scoring with 22. Point United fell short by 20 runs, with a total of 68. Tight bowling by Monique Proctor and Blondelle Laurent, taking 3 wickets each, led Force 2 Reckon to victory.

Combined Force and the Fungies again forfeited their points by not showing up for their games.
Games in East End and Island Harbour on this coming Sunday will begin at 9 a.m, 11:30 a.m and 3p.m.
