Mr Bourne, who was born in Barbados, has spent most of his life in Bermuda and is married to Mrs Linda Bourne, a Bermudian. They have two adult children, Sabrina and Mark, and one granddaughter, Milon.
Mr Bourne will take up his duties in early December. Until then, Mr Scipio has agreed to continue in post.
