Here conducting the sessions is the Health Ministries Director with the North Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Pastor Arnaldo Gonzalez, a Puerto Rican national based in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. The seminar began on Sunday, September 24, at Jireh Tabernacle of Seventh-day Adventists at South Hill and is continuing until Sunday, October 1, climaxing with special services each night.

In addition to the lectures, are blood sugar and blood pressure screening taking into account that these are two of the common conditions affecting the health of many persons who are seeking treatment and advice.

The seminar is also concentrating on such matters as prevention of breast cancer, prostate cancer and other types of cancer, HIV/AIDS and diabetes

Pastor Gonzalez emphasised the deadly effects of these diseases. He pointed out that statistics showed that HIV/AIDS, diabetes and high blood pressure were among the major diseases with high treatment costs, complications and deaths being the results.
The Health Ministries Director, who has been in his post for the past fifteen years, has responsibility for fifteen islands that make up the North Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
