The series of boat races started on Sunday, August 6, at Sandy Ground, when the winner was Light & Peace. The other winners were Eagle, second; Bluebird, third; UFO, fourth; and NWO, fifth.

The August Monday race also at Sandy Ground which attracted the usual large crowd following the J’Ouvert Morning street-jamming which ended there. The first winner was De Tree followed in second to fifth places by UFO, Light & Peace, Super Star and Bluebird. The planned race from Sandy Ground to Island Harbour did not take place, partly due to weather conditions and reportedly lack of sponsorship.

On Wednesday the race was held from Sandy Ground to Blowing Point and back. First place was taken by Light & Peace. Other positions were De Tree, second; UFO, third; Warrior, fourth; and Satellite, fifth.

On August Thursday, the race was held at Meads Bay. It got off to a late start due to weather conditions and with not many boats participating. In first place, was Eagle. The other winners were UFO, second; Bluebird, third; Light & Peace, fourth; and Warrior, fifth.
