Chief Minister Undergoes Surgery |

Anguilla’s Chief Minister, Osbourne Fleming, underwent kidney surgery on Wednesday, July 19, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.

According to a family member in Miami it was a 6-8 hour operation. Mr. Fleming came out of surgery at around 4 pm, while the kidney donor was in the recovery room some hours earlier.
The doctors were reported as saying that the operation went well. Mr. Fleming was taken to the recovery room for a four-hour stay and for the surgeons to closely monitor his condition.
Among those at the hospital were Mrs. Ruby Fleming, wife of the Chief Minister, one of their sons and the daughter of the kidney donor.

Prayers for CM at Mount Fortune SDA Church

The thoughts and prayers of the people of Anguilla are with the Chief Minister. On Wednesday afternoon, the Pastor and members of the Mount Fortune Seventh-day Adventist Church, which Mr. Fleming attends, held a prayer session on his behalf.
A prayer service for the Chief Minister was hosted at the Bethel Methodist Church on Tuesday night and was attended by Government officials and members of the general public.
The Chief Minister has expressed thanks for their prayers and asks that they continue to pray for him.
The Anguillian wishes Mr. Fleming a speedy recovery and salutes the courageous kidney donor who has given him new hope.
