Soroptimists Hold Reading Workshop |

More than thirty children are benefiting from the Soroptimist Club’s Annual Reading Workshop being held each morning for three weeks. Children are chosen by the education authorities and the workshop is organized by Soroptimist Stella Horsford assisted by other Soroptimist members.

The Club has been running the workshops each summer holiday for the past thirteen years for children who are about to enter the secondary school and need help with reading skills.

The students work individually using cards at their own level from the SRA Reading Laboratory. Skills in reading, language, comprehension and spelling are all included. This year six students from the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School who are interested in teaching are assisting with the workshop and gaining teaching experience at the same time.
