Minister Banks Replies To Rey Hill Youth

To: Javed Woods
Geshaune Clarke
Akeim Richardson

Thank you very much for your kind letters regarding your interests in having the proposed playing field site in Rey Hill completed.

I was deeply touched by your letters as it showed that as youngsters you are keenly interested in your personal development through Sports. These interests coincide with Government’s expressed position in our Manifesto to focus greater attention and resources on Youth development issues.

Since Sunday February 26th, when we cleaned up the site in Rey Hill, we have been trying to establish more permanent agreements with the land owners who had agreed to the cleanup of the property. However, quite correctly, they asked that we do not carryout any permanent development to the site until the issue of an appropriate land exchange is agreed. This will be done shortly.

So far I have met Akeim on this matter and I now look forward to meeting with all of you to discuss these issues.

God Bless you all. Continue to be involved in your community and to be concerned about positive issues affecting you as young people.

With much love and understanding.

Sincerely,
Victor F. Banks
