Marisa Gumbs presenting cheque to Kenn Banks
|
Mr. Kenn Banks, President of the Anguilla Amateur Athletic Association, said he was grateful to National Bank of Anguilla Limited (NBA) for assisting in this endeavor. The International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) has been able to give some funding towards travel. NBA has contributed EC$5,000.00 to the athletes. The support has been greatly appreciated. The Association has been able to send ten persons instead of the usual two or three persons to the games this year because of the financial support received from NBA and other local sources.
Miss Marisa Gumbs, Market Research & Business Development Officer of NBA extended the Bank’s best wishes for continued success. She said over the years the National Bank of Anguilla Ltd. has demonstrated its commitment to the development of the youth especially through Sports. The Bank sees this sponsorship as a means of strengthening this commitment and hoped that the athletes would bring home more than one gold medal this time. However, it is hoped that the experience gained from this meet would be a positive one that they could take forward in their future endeavors.
Gary Gumbs, speaking on behalf of the Association, thanked the National Bank for its contribution and looked forward to bringing home some gold and silver medals.
Coaches Wilma Proctor and Alexis Ryan are accompanying the Team.
