Police burning cannabis and cocaine
|
The haul, netted over the past three years, in some cases was held as evidence in court. It comprised 800 pounds of cannabis, thought to have an estimated street price of US$618,181 or EC$1,656,727; and eight and a half pounds of cocaine which, if sold on the street, could have probably fetched US$501,000 or EC$1,344,000.

The burning of the large quantity of drugs, some of which was compressed cannabis and a smaller amount of crack cocaine, was burnt in oil drums. The scented smoke, billowing to the west, was an annoyance to persons in offices or travelling in the area.
