Helpful Advice For Men On Father's Day |

President of the Anglican Church Women Association, Joyce Richardson, has given some helpful advice to men not only about how to be good fathers, but how to eat and live healthily.

Mrs. Richardson, a teacher at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, was at the time delivering an exhortation at a Fathers’ Day brunch held at the Scouts and Guides Ruthwill Auditorium following the morning service at St. Mary’s Anglican Church.

“If you had a chance to perform the duties of fatherhood all over again, what things would you do differently?” she asked. “This is what one young father had to say: ‘I would love the mother of my children more. I would listen and seek more opportunities to give my child a sense of belonging. I would express words of appreciation and praise more often and I would spend more time with my family.’ Another father said: ‘I would laugh more."

Earlier, Mrs Richardson made the point that children ought to honour father and mother, “but it is also the duty of the parent to deserve that respect by bringing up children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

She went on to give fathers a few health tips to help them to fight prostate cancer by inhibiting the growth of the human prostate cells. She advised fathers to eat fresh spinnage, broccoli, cabbage and Brussell sprouts, onions, garlic, tomatoes and plenty nuts, in particular Brazil nuts as they contain an ingredient which fights cancer. Mrs. Richardson suggested that if fathers were to increase their intake of those produce that they would improve their health significantly.
