The bride was given in marriage by the Governor. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Osbourne Fleming and Ministers Kenneth Harrigan and Evans Rogers; other Government officials, staff at Government House and many persons from the local and expatriate community.

The bride took up her post in Anguilla in November last year on her first overseas posting as a member of Her Majesty’s Diplomatic Service. The groom gave up his printing in the United Kingdom to accompany her to Anguilla. Earlier this month, he successfully defended his title to the Peter Johnstone’s Cup at the pitch and putt golf course at Sandy Ground.

The wedding was conducted by Father Ed Herberger who told the couple that it was an important day in their lives when they were setting out on a journey to climb to the top. “Today, God’s words to you are: love one another as I have loved you. That is your goal, the peak that you are setting out for,” the priest advised them.

He went on: “You are finalising a decision before God and this community to begin a journey of loving one another as Christ has loved you…It is a promise never to give up no matter what, to walk with one another for the rest of your lives and to love one another as the one special person in your life.”
