Moonsplash Went Well, Police Thanked |
| Publishing date: 09.04.2006 15:21 |
Despite the milling throngs of people at Moonsplash (March 16-19), there was a high degree of good behaviour and everyone had an enjoyable time. That is generally the feeling among Bankie Banx, the Royal Anguilla Police Force, Immigration, Customs and many people.

A police statement hailed the festival as having been a complete success. “Many people, both local and visitors enjoyed the Moonsplash event in a safe and enjoyable environment,” Superintendent Rudolph Proctor said. “The newly-formed Drug and Firearm Task Force, working alongside CID and uniformed colleagues, deployed stop and search tactics, in order to detect those individuals who chose to arrive at the event carrying illegal substances or weapons.
“A significant amount of weapons and drugs for personal use were seized as a direct result of the Task Force’s operation. A high degree of discretion was used on this occasion, but inappropriate cases prosecution will follow.”
