Netball Team Happy Over Victory

The Anguilla Netball Team is still savouring its victory in Tortola earlier this month when it captured the Championship Trophy for the first time.

Anguilla was the only undefeated team in the tournament in which other teams participated from St. Kitts, St. Maarten and host island, Tortola.

In the championship match Anguilla defeated Tortola 26-22. Anguilla also won the award for being the most disciplined team.

The shoot out was won by St. Kitts with Lisa James of Anguilla placing second. The most outstanding player for Anguilla was Marsha Sutherland.

The Netball Association has expressed thanks to the Anguilla Government for its assistance, Vanterpool’s Services for sponsoring the uniforms and the Tortola Government for providing accommodation and transport.

The Association is also grateful to Tom O’Connor, the Fitness Director from Australia, for preparing the team and to various business places for granting time off to players.
