Knowing how the Principal and staff of the school usually celebrate this milestone, Mr Martin chose to boycott the daily briefing exercise.

During the day, the Principal’s office was decorated. Mr Martin was summoned to the office for a very important overseas call. He reported to the office all smiles believing that some friend from overseas remembered him. He entered the office only to find the Principal and staff singing a lively rendition of the Happy Birthday song. The music teacher was the recipient of flowers’ gifts and well wishes.

Mr. Martin, who was rendered speechless for sometime finally said: “They tricked me! I was surprised. I am very thankful that they remembered me. It was an impressive gesture. I thought after briefing I was safe, but they tricked me.”

Mr Martin wishes to thank the Principal and staff for remembering him.
