One of the teams was the NBA Super Stars, sponsored by the National Bank of Anguilla Limited. President Romeo Kelsick said his team comprised staff members and a few persons from the Spanish community. “This is a match organised against one of the Spanish teams in Anguilla and they invited St. Martin over here and they also invited us to participate in this fun,” he told The Anguillian.

Kelsick further stated: “The Local Pony League organised a business tournament in November last year and invited organisations to participate and we won it. We are continuing to play to better our skills and are preparing to play in the main league.”
Captain of the St. Martin team, Santos Ramoun, said the softball matches were postponed back home as the carnival activities were being held on the playing field. Some matches were however taking place on the Dutch side and Sunday’s match in Anguilla gave his team a welcome opportunity to play here.
