People Need To Talk To The Police |

The Editor,
The Anguillian
Dear Sir:
PEOPLE NEED TO
TALK TO THE POLICE
How in the name of the law when something happens in an area where there are houses and people that no one can see or hear anything? Such seems to be the case in Anguilla these days when a crime is committed.

Maybe people are afraid to talk to the police because they feel they or their family would be next. What in fact they are doing, however, is only giving the gunmen and whoever else more power over the law. No one has the right to keep quiet because the victim is not a family member.
Some people in Anguilla seem only to live for themselves and not for others as well. It is unfair to a mother who has to bury her child while the gunman goes free. Remember your child can go to school and don’t come back.
The law needs to wake up and get serious because the gunmen are getting out of hand. Every time people go out, they have to be looking over their shoulder or listening for the cry out (somebody got shot or stabbed). You may be thinking – is it one for me?
We need no have that fear. There are only a handful of criminals on the loose. Let us apprehend them now.
