MOVEMENTS IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE One Political Appointment |

With the beginning of the New Year, there have been some staff movements in the top positions in the Anguilla Public Service.

Bernard Wattley
|
Two new Principal Assistants have taken up appointments in the Chief Minister’s Office. The appointees are former Labour Commissioner, Evalie Bradley, and former Chief Immigration Officer, Ensor Gumbs. Mrs. Bradley has been succeeded by Russell Reid, who was formerly Director of Library Services, and Mr. Gumbs’ successor is Laureen Bryan, who previously served as his deputy.

Mr. Wattley, who was Deputy Director of Human Resources, is now the new Director of Library Services. He is succeeded at the Department of Public Administration, by Charmaine Rogers, a Graduate Teacher at the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School.

Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office, Foster Rogers, said the ministry, which has a heavy work load, had been re-structured hence the appointment of the two Principal Assistant Secretaries.

Mrs. Bradley’s duties include responsibility for Information and Broadcasting, Disaster Management, Environment and International Relations. Under the latter are Human Rights, Gender Affairs, Protocol and all the regional institutions such as CARICOM, OECS.

Ensor Gumbs
|
Mr. Gumbs is responsible for other departments - Immigration and Labour, Physical Planning and Lands and Surveys.

James Gumbs
|
Another appointment in the public service is Director of Fisheries and Marine Resources, a post being held by Marine Biologist, James Gumbs.

Russel Reid
|
He succeeds Othlyn Vanterpool, who served as Acting Director. Mr. Vanterpool now holds the political appointment of Special Assistant in the Ministry of Social Development with responsibility for Youth, Culture and Sports.
