Mr. Lake, who has an all-round interest in sports in general, donated twenty soccer balls, 12 cones, 2 nets to carry the balls and a first aid kit.
“It is important that the community, businesses and people who have benefited from the schools should begin to give back something so that other children can have the opportunity to grow and develop in a sport that he or she chooses to play,” Lake said at the presentation on Wednesday.
He expressed his admiration for the coaches for what they have done to develop football at the school and said he was happy to be associated with their efforts by making a contribution of equipment to them.
Principal of the school, Veda Harrigan, was grateful to Mr. Lake for his donation. She was pleased that not only businesses but people in the community were responding to the needs of the children in the schools.
She expressed appreciation to coaches Kenneth Carty, Glenda Williams and Kyle Hawley for their work. The coaches were all delighted to be of assistance in the development and discipline of the children.
