Pony Softball Business League Started


The Anguilla Pony Softball business sports club tournament got off to an exciting start on Tuesday night after a brief opening ceremony.

Mr. Owen Mussington, a former softball player, who is now Assistant Coach to the PONY League threw the first pitch to mark the opeining of the tournament.

Five teams are taking part in the tournament: National Bank of Anguilla (Super Stars), National Pony Girls, Cable and Wireless (Shottaz), Warriors Domino Club and the Royal Anguilla Police Force Team.

In the opening game, the NBA Superstars defeated the National PONY Girls by a score of 17 to 14. The winner pitcher was Cardi Richardson of NBA, the umpires were Stanley Carty, Garvey Lake and Ramona Brooks.

The next game will be on Friday and will see Police vs C&W Shottaz. The umpires will be Shandette Carty, Owen Mussington and Garvey Lake.

Games are scheduled to be played on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at the Coronation Park at 7:00 p.m.
