During the opening ceremony, Public Relations Officer with the Anguilla Wind-ball Cricket Association, Farrah Banks, called for the cooperation and assistance of all teams to make the tournament a successful one. “Over the years we have tried to get other persons involved but only a few offered their support,” she complained. “It is not an easy job having to deal with individuals of different personalities on and off the field. It is because of our love for wind-ball cricket, a sport that brings young persons together throughout our community, and for its entertainment to other persons who have been supporting us over the years, why we are still here.”

Miss Banks appealed to all of the teams to uphold the rules of the tournament and to allow the games to be played in a friendly environment. “At the end of it all, someone must win and someone must lose; but each of you should enjoy the game,” she added.
