It was the Second Annual Anguilla Business Survey organised by Melinda Goddard, of ClienTll Consulting LLC, who works in association with the Chamber. “We conducted an interview this year of just under 150 of the business leaders in the Anguillian community,” Mrs. Goddard told The Anguillian shortly after the presentation ceremony in the NBA Board Room. “One of the questions we asked was, of all the Anguilla businesses which would you say is best. The greatest number of those willing to name a business, named NBA this year.”

She explained that various reasons were given for the NBA selection. Common themes regarding the Bank’s performance were that it had met all of their expectations in terms of care and quality of service and it had engendered feelings of being trusted and supported among its customers.

Asked how the survey had met her objectives, Mrs. Goddard said: “As a key element I think it engages the business community and reminds everyone that when you have excellence and quality in your customer service that you will indeed become a leading business in any economy. With the Chamber of Commerce sponsoring this survey, it really sets an example of best practice for the rest of the business community. It is something that we all can aspire to.”

Mr. Banks commented: “It is really great to feel that we are appreciated by our customers in the way this survey has come out. This is our 20th Anniversary and makes it even better. I think that most people are aware that the Bank was started with the view of helping the community within which it operates in every way for the benefit of our island. We have that commitment but all those things can go by the way if we do not provide the excellence in customer service. That is what we have been trying to do all through the years. The Board and Management of the Bank are extremely excited that our staff have come through in this way and that our customers appreciate us and to have indicted, in this way, that we are number one.”

Head of NBA’s Marketing and Business Development, Marissa Gumbs, had this to say: “I am excited about the Bank being awarded number one in customer service. At the National Bank of Anguilla Limited, we pride ourselves in providing excellence in customer service. The Staff, Management and the Board of Directors strive to provide only the best to our customers and it is very exciting to be presented with this award.”

Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Calvin Barlett, who was at the presentation ceremony, expressed gratitude to Mrs. Goddard for having conducted the Anguilla Business Survey and the positive impact it has had on the business community.
