Anguilla hosted last year’s show at Rumza and drew rave reviews as the local beauticians and barbers displayed their talents creditably among other counterparts from around the region and the United States. The 7th Annual Hair and Beauty Show will take place from October 1 to 3 at the Royal Antigua Hotel. Organisers say ten Caribbean countries, including Anguilla, host country Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts, Nevis, Dominica, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and St. Vincent have confirmed their participation.
Anguilla will be represented by stylists Gwyneth Richardson of Unique Touch and Katherine Niles of Fal’s Natural Styles; and barbers Drak of Little New York and Robeson Petty of Sunset Barber Shop.
Some of America’s big-name stylists will also be on show in a Hair War Competition. They include Antiguan-born Dave Ray, Tammi Terrell of Miami, Steven Noss of Pittsburg, Little Willie of Detroit, Lisa B of California and Muffen of Boston.
The event climaxes with an awards ceremony honouring three participants including an Anguillian namely Gwyneth Richardson of Unique Touch. In addition to the show there will be training programmes in specialised areas of cosmetology and trichology on October 3rd.
