Naturalist Advises On Good Health

Large numbers of Seventh-day Adventists and persons from the general community in Anguilla turned up at the Mount Fortune Church for a health seminar conducted by a visiting physician and naturalist, Dr. Sung Min Im.

The May 20 - 22 seminar was on preventing and reversing terminal illness using natural remedies.

Dr. Im, who resides and works in Seattle, Washington, served for a number of years as a medical doctor in the field of Oncology (a branch of medicine dealing with the treatment of cancer). He eventually switched his practice to natural remedies and has been serving as a successful naturalist for the past 25 years. In addition to his practice, he travels extensively to conduct health seminars.

He was invited to Anguilla by Pastor Danny Philip, the recently-appointed resident Minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, as part of its outreach programme.

Using mostly the Bible and Church Manuals during his presentations, Dr. Im impressed on his listeners the importance of paying attention to their cooking, eating and drinking habits if they wanted to enjoy health living. He advised “to prepare food free from grease and in a condition as natural as possible.” He also stressed the need for persons to drink plenty water, noting that it can have an important role in keeping the body clean and healthy.

The seminar sessions were well received and many questions were asked and answered. He met with a number of persons privately but did not give any prescriptions, one reason being that he did not have a work permit.
