The 22-year-old South Hill resident said her attachment had spurred her interest in pursuing studies in the hospitality industry. She graduated this week from Johnson & Wales University in Miami, Florida. In addition to her Bachelors degree, she completed studies leading to an Associates degree in Travel and Tourism Management at the same time. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into the Silver Key Honours Society. Chrislyn achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.87. Her other achievements include Accreditation from the Cruise Line Association and membership of the Cruise and International Clubs.

In 2003 she obtained an Associates degree in tourism related studies from SUNY Cobleskill.

During her year and a half at Johnson & Wales University Chrislyn, received a US$15,000 scholarship from Phi Theta Kappa, an International Honours Society and also part funding from two private sources.

She has expressed gratitude to John Brooks, the recently-appointed Anguillian Mayor of Banbury, Oxfordshire, and Greig Hughes, a local heavy-equipment operator both of whom gave her financial assistance. She is also grateful to her parents Christabell Connor and Everton Gumbs, her uncle Wilson Gumbs, best friend Marisa Edwards and other relatives and friends, for their encouragement and prayers over the years.
