The caring staff at the Miriam Gumbs Senior Citizen’s Home organised a party for one of the inmates, Hilda Gumbs, who celebrated her 90th birthday on May 10.

Mrs. Gumbs, formerly of Mount Fortune, was admitted to the Home on June 24, 2002. She expressed gratitude to the staff for their constant caring love and for making her birthday a most memorable occasion.

She also expressed appreciation to her family and friends on the island who continue to remember her.

Clemence Lake

Meanwhile, another inmate, Clemence Lake, originally from Island Harbour, who was keenly interested in her friend’s birthday celebration, said she was happy in the home and was also thankful to the staff for their good work. She requested that her photograph be taken for members of the public to see her.
