David, the groom’s Bestman said: “Tim and Tori found this island to be very, very attractive and beautiful. They love the people and met and befriended many of them since they bought a house here. They felt very strongly that they should include a number of Anguillians in their wedding because they love the community very much.”

Reverend Gumbs noted that there were a large number of visitors who came from the United States for the wedding. He hoped that their stay in Anguilla would be so memorable that they would return. “I have no doubt that the bride and groom shall return because,” he went on, “I wonder why they have chosen Turtle Cove to be their wedding site. It is a place where quite a number of our turtles come to next. It is very interesting that they have chosen this beautiful site and we are glad that you have both chosen Anguilla for this marriage ceremony.”

Reverend Gumbs then proceeded to conduct the wedding. “It is my duty to remind both of you that marriage is an honourable thing. It is honourable because it is not a man-made institution. Marriage is instituted by God himself,” he told the couple and the guests. “It also signifies to us the mystical union that is between Christ and the Church which holy estate Christ sanctioned by his presence. And the first miracle that he performed was at the wedding in Cana, Galilee, when he turned water into wine.”

In addition to his detailed admonishment to the bride and groom, the ceremony included two readings by members of the wedding party.

Following the wedding, the couple traveled by boat just around the cove to Le Bistro at Malliouhana where the signing of the Marriage Register and one of the receptions took place.
