Windball Cricketers Awarded As Tournament Ends


The relatively long Windball Cricket Tournament in Anguilla has ended with the finals having been played at the Ronald Webster Park and the presentation of awards to the various teams and outstanding individual players.

Following the finals the two Clarence Fleming-Rogers Trophies for the 2004 Knockout Champions and sponsored by Aquaobic Ltd went to Point United, the male team and Razor Massive, the female team.

In the overall positions, the Most Valued Players for the finals were seasoned cricketer Alex Adams and Austra Rogers.

In the final matches the male Blue Jays and the female Razor Massive took first position and in second place were the male team Point United and the female team Force 2 Reckon With.

The list of awards for the 2004 male and female tournament was as follows: Best Uniform: Point United and Force 2 Reckon With; Most Disciplined Team: East Eagles and Conquerors; Highest Individual Score: Carl Gumbs of Tophill Burners with 10 runs against Rebel Squad; and Semone Webster of Razor Massive with 47 runs against Xplosions.

The award for Most Wickets in a Match went to Leon Lake with 4 overs, 27 runs and 5 wickets against Tophill Burners; and to Donnett Phillips with 3 overs, 6 runs and 4 wickets against Force 2 Reckon With; Most Runs in Tournament: Garvey Lake of Point United with 303 runs from 8 games; and Semone Webster of Razor Massive with 105 runs from 5 games; Most Wickets in Tournament: Leon Lake of Point United with 14 wickets; and Donnett Phillips of Youngsters with 15 wickets; and Most Valuable Player 2003: Greg Romney of Point United with 98 runs and 13 wickets; and Blondene Richardson of Youngsters with 76 runs, 8 wickets and several catches as Wicket Keeper.
