L-R: Jodi A. Rumble and Mr & Mrs Tiefenthaler
|
The printers and producers of the 88-page book, with little text and a quantity of rich photographs, are American couple Todd and Elizabeth Tiefenthaler, who have been constant visitors to Anguilla over the years. The author of the book, who was hired by them, is T. H. Patten, who hails from Seattle, Washington and holds a B.A. in English-Creative Writing.
The book was launched by Mrs. Liz Tiefenthaler, owner of Elizabooks Publishing Company in Westport, Wisconsin. She apologised for the author who was unable to come to Anguilla for the occasion and commended him on his work written in the context of a first-time visitor’s experience on the island. She hoped the new book would add in a meaningful way to the information already available about the island and further promote Anguilla as a tourist destination.
The main photographer for the book is Jodi A. Rumble, who has captured a variety of scenes depicting the Anguilla story and life on the island.
The book describes Anguilla as being “35 square miles of the finest resorts, restaurants, villas and whites sand beaches” that one would ever visit.
Copies of the book were purchased at US$25 by a number of persons at the brief launching ceremony.
