Windball Cricket Tournament Update


The Male Windball Cricket Tournament gets into high gear as the Female comes to an end with matches on Sunday, November 28.


In men’s games, Combined Forces did battle with the Rebel Squad at 9am in Junks Hole. Rebel Squad batted first and made 75 all out with Kaloni Richardson top scoring with 25. In response, Combined Forces made 76, only losing 2 wickets. Rayme Minet top scored with 39.

At 9am in East End, the Top Hill Burners came up against the Pointers. The Pointers elected to bat first and scored 150 for 2. Delan Romney and Greig Romney made the bulk of the runs with 57 and 54 respectively.

Sent in to bat, Top Hill Burners scored 90 all out, with Clinton “Rock” Richardson top scoring with 30 and Doc making 23 not out. Leon Lake was the most successful bowler for the Pointers, finishing with figures of 4 overs, no maidens, 27 runs and 5 wickets, earning him an award for a five-wicket haul.

At noon, Nuff Problems and the Blue Jays competed in yet another nail biting encounter for Nuff Problems. Batting first, Nuff Problems made 107 for 8, with Collin Liddie scoring 25 and Travis Carter - 13. Raymond Adams took 4 wickets for Blue Jays, while Alex Adams and Montcin Hodge took 2 wickets each.

In their innings, the Blue Jays made the required runs for the loss of 5 wickets with just one ball to spare. Alex Adams led the way with 68 runs. Nordel Lake took 2 wickets for Nuff Problems.

At noon in Island Harbour, the East Eagles went down to the Razor Massive. East Eagles batted first and made 157 for 5 with Frankie Lake leading the runs with 56 not out. Nigel Hodge also contributed with 24, while Eudoxie Richardson took 2 wickets for the Razor Massive.
In reply, Razor Massive scored 160 off 17.3 overs. Conrad “Metro” Lake top scored with 41 and Vern Smith made 28 not out. Deon Lake of the East Eagles took 2 wickets.

The female tournament ended yesterday with matches in Island Harbour, East End and The Farrington.
The Razor Massive took on the Xplosions at Island Harbour. Batting First, Razor Massive made 114 with Semone Webster claiming the highest individual score of the tournament of 47 not out. Lisa Webster made 18 and Jane Smith - 15. Paulina Proctor of the Xplosions took 2 wickets for her team.

In reply, Xplosions could only make 33 all out. Paulina Proctor made 13. Michelle Gumbs, Shamella Vanterpool and Astra Rogers each took 2 wickets for Razor Massive.

In the Farrington, Force 2 Reckon With went head to head with the Pacers after winning the toss and electing to bat first.

Force 2 Reckon made 108 for 1, with Farrah Banks top scoring with 46 not out. Monique Proctor also contributed 29 not out and Kara Hughes made 12. Seline Greaves took the only wicket to fall.

In reply, Pacers made 76 for 6 off their 15 overs. Merle Mitchum made 29 and Chelsea Carty scored 17. Shandette Carty, Blondell Laurent and Farrah Banks each took 2 wickets for Force 2 Reckon.
