Scotiabank Sponsored Kiddy Cricket Competition - Road Primary School Takes Top Honours


The Scotiabank sponsored Kiddy Cricket Competition saw the Road Primary School taking top honours and was the only school unbeaten in the round of matches. The other places were Stoney Ground – 2nd Place; The Valley Primary – 3rd place and the Teacher Gloria Omolulu Institute placed 4th .


Remarks were made by Kiddy cricket coordinator, Mr. Andrew Niles of Scotiabank, Mr. Michael Sepersaud - Chief Cricket Development Officer for the West Indies, Mr. John Martin – Physical Education teacher and Mr. Arte Eagle – Principal of the Edwin Allen Primary School at West End.

Mr. Niles stated that the competition saw outstanding performances by all the schools. He said sincere thanks must be given to all those persons who were involved in one way or another and who contributed to the success of the competition. Special mention must be made of the Education Department (Primary) and the Local Cricket Board. The Kiddy Cricket programme seeks to develop life skills and positive attitudes amongst boys and girls in a fun environment.

The presentation to Mr. Montcin Hodge represents Scotiabank’s commitment to the development of youth through sports. Mr. Hodge is a rising star for Anguilla cricket and the presentation is one he is fully deserving of. Mr. Hodge received a full Gray Nicolls cricket gear, complete with bats, helmet, pads etc.

The ceremony was held at Paradise Cove in a cocktail setting and was chaired by Mr. Altkins Rogers, Director of Sports for the Government of Anguilla. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Cardigan Connor, Sports Youth Development Officer.
