Thanks Island Harbour

Dear Editor

This letter is to acknowledge and thank the kind and generous people of Island Harbour who came to our aid and rescue on June 8. Within moments of our boat striking a reef and losing her rudder, David Webster, along with his son Rosss and Terrence Webster, was on the scene offering help. A second fishing boat with a solo skipper stood by the entire time ready to assist. After towing our boat out of harm’s way, our rescuers assisted us in towing our dinghy to the dock in Island Harbour.

We wish to thank the many people who met us on the dock offering help, assistance and comfort. Special thanks to Barbara Webster for graciously opening her home to us and to Smitty for his food, drink and moral support. For technical assistance by Todville Harrigan (and many others) to kind hugs, the people of Island Harbour showed us their generous spirit at a most difficult time for us.

Thank you, Island Harbour. You all will forever have a special place in our hearts.

Sincerely,

Michael and Mary Huhns
Johns and Sandy Dickerson
Larry Stephens and Ellen Carruth
