Anguillian Students' Skill Applauded

The performance of three Anguillian students in the CARICOM 30th Anniversary Regional Quiz has been applauded. Denecia Niles, Tahirah Banks and Regine Niles, all Third Form students at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, were Anguilla’s representatives.

The students were chaperoned by Sandra Fahie, a teacher at the school, who said she was proud of their performance. The questions were based on history, social studies, geography, current affairs and CARICOM.

At the zone level, Anguilla competed in the first round against Jamaica which won; but Anguilla won in the second round against Montserrat.

Regine Niles was adjudged best scorer for the Anguilla team and therefore enjoyed the privilege of being present at the semi-finals which were held in Guyana on June 8 and 9.

Regine was awarded a trophy for her achievement. She was selected to make a presentation on behalf of all the participants on their experiences in the quiz in which Guyana emerged overall winner of the competition.
