Is Reflexology Good For The Diabetic?
The Answer is yes… It is a known fact and has been proven time and again that reflexology is a very beneficial part of the healing process. In type 2 Diabetes it is incredible what can happen with regular treatments of reflexology. Some have reported a reduction of insulin intake, some have gone from insulin to oral medication, some from oral medication to controlled diet and some from controlled diet to just healthy eating habits and exercise. Many cases have been noted and reported to this affect, much to the amazement of the mainstream medical technology that something as simple as Reflexology, a none invasive technique and a natural healing art, could be so beneficial.

Let’s look at the whole picture…
Diabetes involves lives, and lives are made up of individuals.
Individuals have a complexity of organs, systems, functions, personality, emotions and spirituality. Yes we are complexed individuals.
With Diabetes though, the main organs that are affected are the following:
1. Pancreas 2. Liver 3. Kidneys 4. Blood 5. Heart 6. The Large and Small Intestines.
1,2,3&6 Belong to the digestive system. Of course if the heart or blood does not function properly the whole system is in trouble.
What does one take in emotionally, physically or spiritually. Some is already there, i.e. inheritance… Genes….
We inherit characteristics from out parents and extended family.
Reflexology affects the whole person.
How one feels, how one thinks, how one acts.
1. How one feels physically depends a lot on the circulation and elimination, what you take in and what you put out.
2. How one thinks depends on ones negative or positive outlook.
3. How one acts out that what you think depends a lot on the above mentioned statements.
Reflexology improves circulation, boosts the immune system, instigates the healing forces, removes stress and tension, brings balance and harmony into your life which causes a person to think more clearly, become more positive thus starts to work on your diadetes…regulates….Etc.
Reflexology does not and I repeat, does not take the place of mainstream medicine on the contrary it helps and enhances thus compliments the medical profession.
Reflexology itself does not claim to heal, but instead instigates the healing forces in ones own body, which are there, we just forget that they are there.
Reflexology does not diagnose but may suggest that you seek medical advice or attention.
Reflexology works on two levels; these are the Conscious Level and the Energy Level or the Quantum Level.
The Conscious Level is how we feel, think, and act..
The Quantum Level is the Energy Force that causes Life to be what it is.
Would we not have this Energy Force we would not exists.
It is a field of energy that constantly transforms, awakens our intelligence which causes us to grow and develop as individuals.
When we do an anagram of Diabetes we can get quite a few words from it; Such as …beat, stab, seat, tease, bet, bait, eat, ate, site and ideas.
How often has one not beat themselves over the head with it, “Woe is me!”
We sit back and are in total denial or do nothing when we see someone being teased by their obesity?
We keep o eating the wrong things? Become bait for fat jokes?
Then when we start to think about it we can see that Diabetes has a lot to do with low self esteem and we are poor emotionally. We say, but I have inherited this from my.. mother, father, family member…. Have you had a change to check their personal growth?
Don’t get me wrong I am talking about Type 1 Diabetes for as we all know that is of a total different nature in the fact that we have a malfunctioning Pancreas from birth.
To put it all together you can see that Reflexology can benefit eveyone… we all have a need to bring ourselves into a better state of health.
Only if it does enhance your living with diabetes I encourage you to study it out for yourself and see if these things I spoke to you about are truly so.
The above mentioned was a presentation given on June 12, 04 at the Diabetic Fair in St. Maarten.
