Primary Schools Exhibition June 29 - 30

The six Government Primary Schools in Anguilla are preparing to mount a two-day exhibition on June 29 and 30 at the Teachers’ Resource Centre.

Art Teacher for the schools, Adoni Philip, who is in coordinating the exhibition, says that one of the components is a fashion show in which students will be modeling dress wear made by them.

Earlier this week seven of the children at the Valley Primary School showcased their creations for readers of The Anguillian. “What we are seeing is the children’s tie and dye and their block printing using stereo-foam and printed ink on cloth which they then made into clothing and will be modelling for the exhibition,” Mrs. Philip explained. “This is the textile part of the exhibition. They also made jewelry using electrical wire and beads in the form of necklaces, earrings and bracelets.”

The fashion show will begin at 10 o’clock on the morning of June 29. The exhibition will feature various other art work done by the children of the primary schools. Parents and all members of the public are being invited to turn up in large numbers for the exhibition.
