ELEVEN TEAMS IN FUN DAY EVENTS Cap Juluca Gains Highest Points


Eleven teams participated in the 2004 Fun Day activities held at the Ronald Webster Park in Anguilla on the Labour Day holiday, May 3.

The results of the competitive sporting activities were as follows: Cap Juluca 85 points; National Bank of Anguilla 73; Scotiabank 47; Police 42; Malliouhana Hotel 42; Legal team 35; Medical and Health 35; Cable and Wireless 29; First Caribbean International Bank 29; Agricultural Department 17 and ANGLEC 10 points.

The events included such traditional activities as supermarket trace, seamstress/tailor race, rim race, tug-o-war, 60 meters drive time, blind base runner race, obstacle race, hotel egg and spoon race, 4 by 100 relays, deliver the letter race and donkey race.

The Fun Day events are hosted annually by the Anguilla Amateur Athletic Association to raise funds to assist athletes and to bring the workers together on Labour Day to have amusement among themselves.

The Royal Anguilla Police Force players were adjudged the most disciplined and organised team.

The Athletic Association has offered its thanks to the many participants and spectators who supported the events over the years and looks forward to their continued support.
