Dual Reward For Trainers

Two professional trainers, who conducted a seminar for 32 middle managers of the Anguilla Public Service last week, said it provided a dual reward for them. An important contributing factor is that they are Anguillians.

Samuel Rey and his sister Sheryl Warren are the children of Edris Webster of Island Harbour and nephew and nieces of Ronald Webster and Olive Hodge. Rey is President and Staffing Consultant of Host-U Services, a St. Thomas-based company dedicated primarily to Hospitality and Customer Services Training, Leadership Development, Employment Placement and Department Outsourcing. He has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of the Virgin Islands since in 1994. His sister, who lives in Atlanta, is the company’s Director for Training and Management Development.

The Excellence in Leadership Seminar was financed under the Good Government Fund available to Anguilla and other British Overseas Territories.

“The seminar provided a dual reward for us as our roots are right here in Anguilla,” Mr. Rey commented. “Our mother lives here, Ronald Webster is our uncle and all our other family are here. When you can have siblings join together in an effort that can benefit the people and the entire status of Anguilla, it gives us a lot of pleasure and joy that we can do that.
“It is unlike any other seminar that we have done elsewhere because this is where we are. We know the people, we know their values and we know their culture. Once in a while, in our professional presentations, we used a little Anguillian slang and they responded to that positively because they say ‘here’s two people who know about us, our culture, how we are and how we feel.’

“That is a positive thing but we also demonstrated the importance of Anguillians being professional and that we can stand against any other professional here. We are proud to be here as brothers and sisters –siblings joining together to present this wonderful seminar on Leadership Excellence.”
