Young Musicians At Bethel

As part of the celebrations marking its 125th Anniversary, the Bethel Methodist Church honoured Teacher Eudora Hughes and the late Muriel Richardson for their Music Ministry in the church.

Today, it is a pleasure to see young people performing as organists, pianists and masters of other musical instruments in various churches on the island, the schools and elsewhere in the community. It was a fitting tribute to the youth that two young people, Kimba Carty and Lois Hazell-Carbon, were the organist and pianist respectively at Bethel’s Thanksgiving Anniversary Service on Sunday June 22. Their coordinated performances drew much admiration from the large number of persons in attendance and greatly enhanced the singing of both the congregation and choir.

Kimba is in fact the Organist and Choir Director at Bethel. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from the University of the Virgin Islands and teaches music in the schools and privately at home.
