Gregory Permuy At Tae Kwon-Do Congress In Warsaw


President of AXA ITF Tae Kwon-Do in Anguilla, Second Dan, Mr. Gregory Permuy, has returned from the 13th World Senior Tae Kwon-Do Championships and Congress in Warsaw, Poland. The Championships were held from June 12-15th with the Congress convening on June 13th. Secretary General, Master Tom MacCallum of Vienna introduced Mr. Permuy to the Congress and recognised Anguilla as the newest member country of the International Tae Kwon-Do Federation.

The ITF Congress is held every two years and coincides with the Senior World Championships. Master Trân Triêu Quân of Canada was elected as the new President of the Federation while Master Benny Rivera of Puerto Rico was elected as the President of the Panama Continental Tae Kwon-Do Federation, under which Anguilla falls. According to Mr. Permuy, the Congress has named Italy as the venue for the next Junior World Championships in May 2004 and Germany for the World Senior Championships and Congress in 2005 .

The AXA ITF TaeKwon-Do Club, which represented Anguilla at the 2002 Junior World Championships, in Puerto Rico, will be representing Anguilla in Italy.

Mr. Permuy and the AXA ITF Tae Kwon-Do Club would like to thank the Government of Anguilla, Cable and Wireless, Social Security, Blue Waters Beach Apartments, Lakes World, National Bank of Anguilla, Scotia Bank, Trattoria Tramonto and Mrs. Carolyn Permuy for their contributions which made it possible for Anguilla to be represented at the World Championships and Congress in Poland.
