LATE SHOWS A TURN OFF AT LANDSOME BOWL
Dear Sir
I would like to thank the writer of last week’s letter “Late Shows at Landsome Bowl” and wish to add my support.
|
I went to a Queen Show at Carnival Village about eight or nine years ago. At around 3:00 a.m., I gave up and left. The show was nowhere near finished. Not me again!
While I understand having an opening act before the main event, the organisers of these shows should understand there is no need to give every entertainer in Anguilla a chance on stage all on the same night. What starts as an enjoyable evening becomes an endurance test.
In addition, I live nowhere near The Valley and yet the sound from Landsome Bowl is very distinct. I don’t have to pay for a ticket; I get to hear the show whether I want to or not. And at 1:00 am or 2:00am I don’t want to.
Until these problems are addressed, the attendance by residents to the show will start to drop as people realise they aren’t getting good value for money, and there is no point attempting to promote Carnival to visitors.
