PLANS MOVE AHEAD FOR EDUCATION MILESTONE

With the 50th Anniversary of Secondary Education in Anguilla quickly approaching, plans are continuing for the celebration of the event with a number of activities.

In the run-up to those activities, a panel discussion was organised for Thursday night April 24 at the Teachers Resource Centre by the committee responsible for the commemorative activities. The committee and panelists are drawn from among a number of persons who benefited from secondary education in Anguilla at different periods over the years. They include Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks, Chanelle Petty-Barret, Tonya Carter and others.

The anniversary celebration activities will begin on July 27 and will include a church service, cocktail reception, a fun day and awards ceremony and dance.

Meanwhile, over the past year there have been a number of awareness activities including two fun walks, a bicycle ride and a disco night.
