"Joy Of Anguilla" AT DEVONISH GALLERY

Well-known talented artist Peg Gregory is once again showcasing some of her work in an exhibition at the Devonish Gallery. There are 24 oil paintings of houses, beach scenes, people, flowers and birds of Anguilla that for Peg are all part of the ‘joy’ of Anguilla.

She has been visiting the island for the past twenty four years and calls it her home away from home where she spends at least five months and is hoping to spend longer than that in the future. She loves the people and has many friends both Anguillian and among the regular visitors from overseas. She enjoys all the scenery in Anguilla and says, “Where else can you find these fantastic beaches and skies?”

Peg Gregory lives in Rhode Island where she is best known for her portrait work of old and young. She also paints landscapes, seascapes and still life. Her work is very popular. It has won her many awards and is shown in several galleries in Rhode Island, as well as being displayed in many homes in other parts of the USA, Europe and the Caribbean. In addition she teaches classes and workshops in her hometown and enjoys sharing her talents with others.

The paintings in the present exhibition have really captured the joy of Anguilla and the many persons at the opening on Sunday March 2 were full of praise for her work. The exhibition continues until March 22.
