Anguilla is among the many destinations that will be featured in the Caribbean Travel & Life Reader’s Choice Awards for 2003.

So says Jayne McAllister, Territory Manager, in a letter of congratulations sent to Director of Tourism, Mrs Amelia Vanterpool-Kubisch, indicating that Anguilla had been selected as the 3rd Best Undiscovered Destination in the Caribbean.

A number of Anguillian Properties also made it onto the widely anticipated Reader’s Choice List, including Cap Juluca, which captured 1st place Honours as the Best Small Hotel in the Caribbean, and 2nd Place in the category Most Unique Architecture. The 3rd Place in this category also went to another Anguillian Property, CoveCastles Resort, while Johnno’s in Sandy Ground was named the 3rd Best Bar for Dancing on the sand in the Caribbean.

The Best of the Caribbean Awards will be highlighted in the March 2003 issue of Caribbean Travel & Life which goes on sale on February 25th, 2003.

In a related story, Anguilla has also received coverage in one of its major European markets, Italy, through the inclusion of a two page article and cover mention of the island in the upmarket Italian magazine, Glamour, which has a circulation of about 200,000 readers. The article, which forms part of the January issue, highlights the beautiful white sands of the island, and features Shoal Bay, Rendezvous Bay, Dolphin Fantaseas, Devonish Art Gallery, Dune Preserve, Koal Keel, Uncle Ernie’s, Cap Juluca, El Buen Consejo Dive site and Island Dream Realtors.

Arrangements for the visit of the Glamour Team were coordinated by the Anguilla Tourist Board’s former Italian representatives, De Paoli and Associates, with on island assistance provided by the Anguilla Tourist Board and the Anguilla Hotel & Tourism Association.
