All Stars Defeat VP United


In the CCB Cricket League matches played last weekend, Saturday’s game ended with the All Stars victorious over VP United, whilst on Sunday The Farrington was able to overcome the boys from the ALHCS.

In the first match VP United won the toss and put the All Stars in to bat, the Stars scoring some 205 runs in 245 minutes from 40 overs. Richard Burton top scored with a good knock of 63 while Mitch Harrigan added 32, Rommel Hughes 29, Derrick Michelle 22 and Skellekie Sr. remained not out on 23.

For VP United, veteran Charlie Hodge proved that the old fire is still there in taking 3 wickets for 32 off 7 overs whilst Eversley Browne took 2 for 32 from 8 and Eustace Proctor 1 for 35 from 8.

After getting off to a good start in scoring 27 runs from the first four overs, there was soon to be a steady tumbling of VP United’s wickets, only Eustace Proctor once again weathering the storm with a well played 58 not out, before the side succumbed for a total of 140 which included 25 extras.

The most successful bowlers for the Stars were Anguilla paceman Marlon Martin with the excellent figures of 7 overs, one maiden, 5 for 22 and Gregg Romney, 6 overs, one maiden 3 for 18. The All Stars won by 65 runs.
In Sunday’s game, the School won the toss and batted, eventually making a total of 172 for 8 wickets from their 40 overs. The in-form Lindell Richardson scored 65 and Ashwin de Sousa 36. For The Farrington, the Adams family’s Raymond took 3 wickets for 36 off 8 whilst Lanville Harrigan captured 2 for 32 off 7.
In a well contested match, The Farrington were eventually able to overtake the youngsters total and reached 174 for 7, winning by 3 wickets. The Adams in this match, Terry, top scored with an aggressive 72 not out, Lanville Harrigan and Raymond Adams making 17 each. For ALHCS Moncin Hodge took 3 for 29 off 8 overs with Linval Richrdson, Daniel Proctor, Dillon Skellekie and Neville Hamilton all chipping in with 1 wicket.
