Police Investigating Burglary at Albert's Businesses

The Royal Anguilla Police Force Criminal Investigation Department is carrying out investigations into a burglary at Albert Lake’s Hardware and Supermarket on the Stoney Ground Road, which occurred between 23:00 hrs on 13th December 2002 and 07:18 hrs on 14th December 2002.

Officers of the Royal Anguilla Police Force (R.A.P.F.) responded at 07:25 hrs after the owner, Mr. Albert Lake, discovered that both the Hardware and the Supermarket were burglarized. On examination of the Hardware Department, the R.A.P.F. Crime Scene Officers discovered that the steel safe was extensively damaged and ransacked.
At the Supermarket damage was done to two of the office doors and the security equipment. The safe was opened and a substantial amount of cash was missing.
This is the second such break-in, in Anguilla, in two weeks. While there are similarities in the methods used to effect these crimes there is no evidence to indicate that they are connected.
Investigations are continuing and the Force is following several leads. However, R.A.P.F. is appealing to anyone who has information relating to any of these crimes to call in to the Royal Anguilla Police Force Department at 497-2333 or Crime Stoppers Hotline at 0800-777-7777.
