Health Authority Managers' Meeting

The Health Authority of Anguilla held a meeting for executive management and managers at the Teachers Resource Centre. The purpose of this meeting was to bring managers up-to-date with some reorganization initiatives and to impress upon managers the importance of keeping in mind at all times three key points – accountability, responsibility and ownership.

Dr Franklin Lloyd, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, in his opening remarks stated “that a healthy population is a prerequisite to a productive population which is a prerequisite to a buoyant economy which is a prerequisite to national development”. He pointed out the importance of planning, combining a variety of initiatives into a consistent and coordinated strategy and team work to achieve the ultimate objective of a healthier Anguilla.

The Hon Evans McNeil Rogers, Minister of Social Development, in his remarks admonished managers “you are your choices and the choices made will gradually filter down in what is done for the benefit of mankind.” He opined that improved quality care should be the sole aim of all health care workers and appealed to all to continue the hard work they were doing in serving the people of Anguilla.
Updates on work in progress such as implementation of Smart Stream and fiscal overview were presented by the Chief Operations Officer, Mrs Clavis Carter-Gumbs, the Chief Financial Officer, Mr Ralph V.C. Hodge. Presentations on performance management were given by the Human Resources Manager, Mrs Meridith Gumbs.
