Police Report For March 26 - April 2

Superintendent of Police, Rudolph Proctor, told the local media on Wednesday that there were nine reports of crime on the island.

These included two burglaries – one at Old Ta and the other at South Hill. There were four thefts at North Hill, Cauls Bottom, Statia Valley and West End.
Items stolen included a video camera, a cellular phone, a chain, a welding machine and clothing.
A robbery took place in The Valley during which a 12 year-old boy was robbed of his chain at knife-point.
The police received report of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, which is being investigated.
Nine persons were arrested during the period under review. One arrest was to prevent a breach of the peace, four arrests for possession of cannabis, one arrest for possession of cocaine, one for possession of a .45 calibre firearm and three rounds of ammunition. Two persons were arrested on suspicion of arson.
There were six minor traffic accidents one of which involved injuries.
Sitting in at the press briefing with the Superintendent were Deputy Commissioner Illidge Richardson and Inspector Paul Sinclair, who spoke on other police matters.
