The sports activities ranged from table tennis, dominoes, football, basketball, mixed softball and cricket and were played at the James Ronald Webster Park, The Valley Basketball court and in the Campus B auditorium of the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School. Albert Burton of the Custom’s Department spoke with The Anguillian on the phone and gave more details about the sports competitions. Each sport had individual winners instead of it being a overall team event. In table tennis, Guyana Came out on top and took first prize. In dominoes, Guyana won 2 to 1 over Anguilla. Anguilla dominated the basketball competition and took the first place trophy. In football, Guyana won in an exciting match over Trinidad and Tobago that ended 1-1 and was decided by penalty kicks. Trinidad and Tobago did get some revenge however by beating Guyana in mixed softball. The sporting events culminated with a prize giving ceremony held at the House of Chandeliers on Monday, March 24. In all, the entire event was highly successful and much fun and camaraderie was enjoyed by all.
