Mrs. Starry Webster-Benjamin, CCB’s Managing Director, welcomed the participants at the seminar which was held at the Next Level, on the second floor of English Rose Restaurant. She hoped that they would receive added value for their businesses during the time spent in the sessions and that it would be a fruitful morning for them.

Ms Myrna Sasso, CCB’s Credit Card Manager, said the seminar was 4 C’s idea. “I guess they thought it was time they came and met the merchants to whom they have been answering questions for a very long time,” she explained. “When they have manual transactions merchants have to call Four C’s to get authorisation so it was time for them to meet the people who they serve daily. They are the processors for Credit Cards and CCB’s Corporate Cards issued to the businesses.”

The presenters of the training were Janiere Frank, Fraud Analyst, and Natasha St. Justa, Operations Officer, both of the Caribbean Credit Card Corporation.

Ms St. Justa told the participants that it was a pleasure to meet and interact with them. “We are hoping that the information that we share with you will help you to make your business a more profitable one,” she stated. “We really want to equip you with some skills in terms of guarding yourself against fraud. We have seen an increase in fraud in the region, and all across the world, and we are going out to ensure that all of our merchants are equipped with the best practices to prevent themselves from being victimised by fraud.”

The subject areas covered during the seminar included Card Acceptance Procedures, Limiting Exposure to Fraudulent Transactions, What to do if you suspect Fraud and Card Present & Card Absent Best Practices.
